Sky, formerly known as MakerDAO, has launched its stablecoin USDS and its yield-bearing variant sUSDS on the Avalanche blockchain through its Skylink bridge. Skylink, built on LayerZero infrastructure, uses a burn-and-mint framework, eliminating the need for bridge liquidity. Grove Finance facilitated the first transfer of these assets from Ethereum to Avalanche. The bridge, which went live on April 13, has a daily transfer cap of 5 million, with plans to increase limits by April 27. Native USDS-to-sUSDS conversions on Avalanche are expected later in Q2 2026.
