Sierra Leone's Ministry of Communications, Technology and Innovation (MoCTI) has partnered with Sign to develop a blockchain-based digital identity and stablecoin payment infrastructure. The agreement, signed by MoCTI representative Salima Monorma Bah and Sign CEO Xin Yan, marks the launch of Sierra Leone's national blockchain initiative. This initiative aims to provide citizens, businesses, and government services with verifiable digital identities and efficient domestic transaction solutions. The collaboration also includes plans to establish a crypto-friendly legislative framework to support blockchain innovation. Additionally, the partnership will focus on designing digital payment systems, asset tokenization technologies, and policy foundations, while promoting blockchain and AI-driven growth through Felei Tech City.
