Shinhan Financial Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Visa to work on stablecoins and other digital asset-related future finance businesses. The two sides will use Visa’s stablecoin platform to test core functions including issuance, transfers, and redemptions, while also designing business models suited to South Korea’s financial environment. The partnership will also explore stablecoin applications in card settlement services, AI payments, and the expansion of B2B and B2C payment businesses. Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong said the long-term partnership with Visa will be extended across the digital finance sector to jointly create new future finance models.
