A recent report by Shibarium developer Kaal Dhairya has revealed details of a security breach on the Shibarium bridge. On September 12, an attacker exploited unauthorized validator power to withdraw assets, including $ETH, $SHIB, and $ROAR. The Shibarium team has since contained the breach and is collaborating with external security experts and authorities to address the issue.
In response to the exploit, the team has implemented several containment measures, such as rotating validator signers and adopting a multi-party hardware custody solution. While the attacker sold portions of the stolen assets, the team is actively monitoring wallet activity but has withheld specific addresses to protect the ongoing investigation.
