Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) reportedly advised former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández to testify during his 2024 trial in New York, despite opposition from Hernández's legal team. Following his testimony, Hernández was convicted of conspiring to smuggle over 400 tons of cocaine into the United States. SBF, who was sentenced to over 20 years in prison and ordered to pay $11 billion in restitution approximately 20 months ago, also testified in his own FTX trial but failed to alter the outcome. He continues to offer informal legal advice to fellow inmates.
