Russian police and the Federal Security Service (FSB) have dismantled an illegal cryptocurrency mining operation near Yegoryevsk, Moscow region, detaining a 68-year-old local man. The suspect allegedly set up 30 mining machines on his property in the village of Pochinki, causing power grid overloads, voltage fluctuations, and damage to household appliances in the area, resulting in over 4 million rubles in property damage. Authorities also seized two routers, a laptop, a mobile phone, and eight fans. The man is currently under house arrest.
