This investment will be channeled through the Astera Institute, a non-profit he founded, focusing on neuroscience-inspired AI development. McCaleb aims to create AI systems modeled on the human brain, using brain-computer interfaces to study neural activity. Additionally, he will allocate $600 million towards neuroscience research. McCaleb, who left Ripple and sold his XRP by 2022, views AI as a transformative field, marking a shift from his cryptocurrency ventures.
