Riot Platforms voluntarily repaid its $200 million Coinbase Credit loan on September 21, terminating the facility seven months ahead of the amended April 2027 maturity date without incurring early termination fees. The repayment released security interests on pledged collateral, including 5,821 BTC valued at approximately $340.7 million as of June 30, which represented about 51% of the company's total Bitcoin holdings at that time.
The Bitcoin-backed credit facility carried a fixed annual interest rate of 6.15% and was fully drawn after Riot increased it from an initial $100 million in April 2025 to $200 million the following month. With the debt cleared, Riot continues expanding its data center operations, having secured a 20-year agreement in August to provide 191 megawatts of computing capacity to an AI developer at its Rockdale campus with projected revenue of $9.1 billion over the term.
