Project Eleven, a post-quantum security firm, has warned that quantum computing could threaten Bitcoin wallet security by 2030. The company highlighted that transitioning Bitcoin to post-quantum cryptography poses significant challenges, requiring coordinated efforts from users, exchanges, custodians, and miners. The issue, they argue, is not just technical but also logistical. In response, BitGo CEO Mike Belshe criticized the warning, suggesting that Project Eleven's business model relies on inciting public fear about quantum computing.
