Coinbase has renamed its Base App back to Coinbase Wallet, repositioning the self-custody app as a multichain trading gateway and “test kitchen” for products and assets not yet offered on its centralized exchange.
Coinbase Wallet supports more than 10 networks, including Base, Robinhood Chain, Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Monad, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon and Avalanche. The app also integrates perpetual futures trading through Hyperliquid and supports long-tail assets, prediction markets and tokenized stocks.
Coinbase said the wallet emphasizes “no KYC, no waiting, no borders,” while some features remain geographically restricted. The team plans strict product and compliance reviews for new asset categories such as prediction markets and tokenized stocks, with fee revenue generated through on-chain trading and social copy trading.
