Polkadot has launched $dotUSD, a new stablecoin governed by the network's OpenGov system and backed entirely by USDT reserves. The token currently has a total supply of approximately 2.77 million, with users able to mint new units against USDT deposits.
Future protocol updates will introduce DOT-backed borrowing capabilities, expanding collateral options beyond the initial USDT-only phase. This governance-controlled stablecoin aims to integrate native liquidity directly into the Polkadot ecosystem.
