Osmosis has officially ended inflationary issuance of its native token OSMO. Following the latest epoch, newly minted OSMO dropped to zero, compared to a previous daily rate of 91,324 tokens. The change was enacted after Proposal 1053 passed with 91.1% approval.
Going forward, staking rewards will be funded by protocol revenue rather than newly issued tokens. Each OSMO burned will now directly reduce total supply, shifting the network's economic model from inflationary to revenue-driven incentives.
