Osmosis, a decentralized exchange within the Cosmos ecosystem, has revised its proposal for the Cosmos Hub, eliminating the plan for new ATOM minting. Instead, Osmosis will purchase the required ATOM on open markets using revenues from its DEX protocol for OSMO/ATOM conversions. The total acquisition volume is capped at less than 2.5% of the total ATOM supply. This updated proposal is currently under discussion in the Cosmos Hub governance phase. Previously, Osmosis had proposed a major integration with the Cosmos ecosystem, aiming to migrate the Osmosis DEX natively to the Cosmos Hub. This move, pending approval from both chains' governance, seeks to unify liquidity, governance, and security on a single chain.
