HackerOne, one of the world's largest bug bounty platforms, reported 85,000 valid bounty submissions in 2025, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. Despite this growth, the rise of AI has led to a surge in low-quality, AI-generated false reports, complicating the review process. Barry Plunkett, Co-CEO of Cosmos Labs, noted a 900% increase in planned submissions compared to last year, with 20 to 50 reports received daily, many of which contain invalid information.
