The governance body behind OpenUSD (OUSD), a stablecoin co-initiated by Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase, and Shopify, has established its fee structure and partner incentive program. Open Standard will charge a management fee of 0.1 basis points on payment volume, capped at $0.01 per transaction, with payments of $1,000 or more subject to the cap.
Unlike competitors USDT and USDC, which retain interest earned on reserves, OUSD distributes reserve yield directly to partners after deducting only the management fee. The organization also offers partners equity in the project based on their OUSD holdings and fund flows, requiring a minimum holding of $50 million to participate in the equity pool, with individual stakes capped at 5%.
Visa has additionally released a comprehensive technical implementation guide exceeding 100 pages to help partners integrate OUSD through its stablecoin platform.
