Tether-backed payment app Oobit has integrated Brazil's PIX instant payment network, enabling users to conduct transactions using USDT. This integration allows users to top up Brazilian reais within the Oobit app, convert to USDT, and make payments via PIX. Users can send USDT to any PIX Key or use QR codes for payments, with on-chain settlements occurring seamlessly in the background. PIX, developed by Brazil's central bank, boasts nearly 170 million users. Oobit previously secured $25 million in a Series A funding round in 2024, led by Tether and Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko.
