Ondo Finance has launched a proxy voting feature for its tokenized equities, enhancing investor participation in corporate governance. This new capability, developed in collaboration with Broadridge Financial Solutions, allows holders of over 250 tokenized securities on Ondo's platform to review company filings and submit voting preferences via Broadridge’s ProxyVote system. Investors can access these tools using crypto wallets, bridging the gap between traditional brokerage accounts and blockchain-based assets. The introduction of proxy voting addresses a significant gap in governance rights for tokenized equities, a rapidly growing sector in the crypto space. Ondo Finance, the largest issuer in this sector, manages over $700 million in stock and ETF tokens on its Global Markets platform, primarily for non-U.S. investors. While these tokens do not confer direct shareholder rights, the new system enables investors to express preferences that Ondo can apply when voting the shares it holds. This development aligns with Ondo's mission to make traditional financial assets more accessible and integrated with blockchain technology.
