New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) has partnered with Centrifuge to tokenize its high-yield corporate bond strategy, marking its entry into the growing trend of asset tokenization. The initiative aims to enhance portfolio customization by embedding personalization within the asset itself, rather than relying on complex operational processes. This approach could streamline back-office functions like transfer agency and settlement, potentially reducing costs by 10% to 20% for investors. NYLIM executive Sy highlighted the role of stablecoins as a bridge for traditional financial institutions to enter the blockchain space. With the stablecoin market exceeding $300 billion, these digital assets are increasingly used for cross-border payments and treasury management. As adoption grows, institutions may seek tokenized assets to generate yield, further integrating blockchain technology into mainstream finance.
