Nu launched U.S. operations and rolled out Nu Global on September 10, 2026, as its total customer base across Brazil, Mexico and Colombia surpassed 140 million. Nu Global is offered by Swiss entity Nu Global AG and targets users with cross-border living, work and asset management needs.
The account supports balances described as “digital dollars” in USDC and “digital euros” in EURC, with launch annualized yields of 3.50% and 2.20%, respectively, and daily credited earnings. Nu Global also supports buying and selling digital assets, eligible external crypto transfers via whitelisted wallets under Travel Rule requirements, and a Mastercard virtual card that can use fiat first and sell crypto if authorized when fiat balances are insufficient.
Sygnum provides Nu Global with fiat-crypto conversion, digital asset trading, stablecoin services and institutional-grade custody. The launch follows Nu’s earlier crypto expansion in Brazil through Nubank Cripto, including USDC support, crypto-to-crypto exchange, USDC rewards, Bitcoin Lightning integration and staking-based Earn Crypto.
