Web3 audit firm founder Pablo Sabbatella has raised alarms about North Korea's infiltration of the cryptocurrency industry, claiming that 15% to 20% of crypto companies have been compromised. According to Sabbatella, 30% to 40% of job applications in the sector are submitted by North Korean agents who use fake U.S. identities through outsourcing platforms to gain remote access to sensitive positions. Sabbatella emphasized the industry's vulnerability due to inadequate operational security measures, making it a prime target for such infiltration. He also pointed out that company founders are often the focus of these attacks, underscoring the need for heightened security protocols within the crypto space.
