Nillion has launched a decentralized agent verification layer on its Ethereum L2 network, Nillion Blacklight, utilizing the ERC-8004 standard. This new layer focuses on verifying agent activity through a committee of Blacklight nodes that independently confirm 2XX responses from agent endpoints and record results on-chain via decentralized consensus. The verification process involves five steps: agent registration, verification request initiation, committee assignment, node checks, and on-chain reporting. Nillion plans to expand Blacklight's capabilities to "programmable verification," enabling decentralized audits of complex behaviors such as agent decision-making logic consistency, multi-step workflow execution, and security constraints. The ERC-8004 standard aims to enhance the verification of on-chain agent authenticity and activity.
