MultiversX has announced its integration with Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), launched in January, becoming the first blockchain network to support this AI commerce standard. In addition, MultiversX has introduced the x402 payment protocol, incubated by Coinbase, which embeds payments into standard web requests. This allows applications or AI agents to automatically pay for APIs, data, or services without requiring logins or redirects. The x402 protocol will support multi-chain and traditional payment channels following an upgrade in December 2025.
