MILC Media Metaverse has experienced a significant security breach on its cross-chain bridges between BNB and Ethereum, leading to a loss of approximately $160,000. The breach, reported on June 10th, involved an attacker exploiting a historical bridge administrator wallet to gain unauthorized access. The attacker then transferred administrator privileges to an externally owned account (EOA) under their control.
The attacker extracted MLT tokens from the bridge contract and assumed control of the cross-chain bridge. As a result, they obtained around 97,003 USDT on the Binance Smart Chain and transferred approximately 39.21 ETH on Ethereum via Rhino.fi, culminating in a total loss of about $161,000. The incident highlights vulnerabilities in cross-chain bridge security.
