Michael Saylor has announced the launch of the Bitcoin Security Consortium, pledging $15 million over three years to bolster the Bitcoin network's security and resilience. The consortium includes prominent founding members such as Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, BlackRock, Block, Blockstream, Coinbase, Fidelity Digital Assets®, Galaxy, and Strategy. These members represent a wide range of sectors within the Bitcoin ecosystem, including holders, custodians, exchanges, infrastructure providers, payment providers, and asset management firms. The consortium's daily operations are managed by Mike Schmidt, Executive Director of Brink, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting Bitcoin open-source developers. Schmidt, who volunteers in this role, will oversee the consortium's efforts to enhance the network's long-term stability.
