Meme coins' share of the altcoin market has dropped to 3.7%, marking the lowest level since February 2024, according to CryptoQuant data reported by BeInCrypto. This decline comes as the number of meme coin holders also hits a three-year low. The market share of meme coins peaked at over 10% in November 2024 but has since steadily decreased. Capital is shifting towards utility tokens in AI, RWA, and DeFi sectors. The total market cap of meme coins stands at approximately $28 billion, while RWA tokens have surpassed $64 billion. Dogecoin remains the largest meme coin with a market cap of about $12.1 billion, accounting for nearly half of the meme coin sector. Notably, meme coin advocate Murad Mahmudov has held his meme coin portfolio for over two years without selling, despite an 81% drop from its peak. Political meme coins have suffered even greater losses, with the TRUMP token plummeting from $73 to around $1.71, a 98% decline, and MELANIA experiencing a 99% drop.
