A Macao woman has reportedly lost $1.18 million in a suspected virtual currency investment scam. The victim made eight transfers to the platform starting mid-September, initially seeing a displayed profit of $7.9 million. However, when attempting to withdraw, she was asked to pay an additional $250,000 for an exchange rate difference. Communication with the platform's customer service ceased on December 20. Additionally, a man reported losing 80,000 HKD in a similar manner. This incident underscores the risks associated with high-yield crypto investment schemes.
