Lithuania's State Tax Inspectorate has issued Order No. VA-63, updating crypto asset user reporting procedures to comply with the EU's DAC8 directive and OECD CARF framework. Crypto asset service providers must now collect and report user identity information, transaction records, account balances, and tax residency status.
Entities that have already fulfilled reporting obligations in other EU member states may be exempt from duplicate submissions under the new rules. The collected data will be automatically exchanged among EU tax authorities starting mid-2027, enhancing cross-border tax transparency for digital assets.
