Bitcoin lending platform Lava has raised $17.5 million in a Series A extension round, with participation from notable investors including Peter Jurdjevic of the Qatar Investment Authority and former executives from Visa and Block. The funding will support the launch of Lava's new USD Yield product, which offers users the opportunity to earn up to 7.5% annualized yield by providing USD liquidity for Bitcoin-collateralized loans. Lava's USD Yield product is designed to enhance liquidity on the platform, with all loans backed by Bitcoin at a collateralization ratio exceeding 200%. This development follows Lava's previous Series A funding led by Founders Fund and Khosla Ventures, underscoring the platform's growing influence in the crypto lending space.
