A significant cryptocurrency transaction involving the sale of over $4.23 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) for Ethereum (ETH) has been linked to Garrett Jin, a former executive of a cryptocurrency exchange. On-chain analyst Eye disclosed on the X platform that a whale associated with HyperLiquid, holding more than 100,000 BTC, conducted the sale between August and September using a series of BTC wallets through Hyperliquid/Hyperunit.
The ETH-staking contract associated with these transactions was funded by a wallet initially funded by "ereignis.eth," and a second ENS domain, "garrettjin.eth," connects to X user Garrett Jin. Currently, Jin is reported to hold 46,295 BTC, valued at approximately $5.19 billion. Binance CEO CZ has retweeted the analysis, expressing uncertainty about its accuracy and calling for further verification.
