The Kyrgyz government has ordered the termination of its national stablecoin, Gold Dollar (USDKG), and directed the Ministry of Finance to liquidate both the issuer EVA and the state-owned Coin Nomad Exchange. Launched in November 2025 as the world's first state-issued, gold-backed stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, USDKG was originally positioned for cross-border settlements with operations planned through 2034.
The shutdown aims to optimize state asset management. Holders of the Tron-based token, which had a registered issuance of just over 50 million units, can now redeem their holdings for fiat currency or USDT. EVA was previously a wholly state-owned entity under the Ministry of Finance operating as the virtual asset issuer.
