Kraken has announced it will transition from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for its cross-chain infrastructure, impacting wrapped assets such as kBTC. This strategic shift involves over $3 billion in total value locked (TVL) and follows a $292 million cross-chain exploit related to LayerZero on Kelp in April. The migration will include networks like Ink, Ethereum, Unichain, and Optimism. Launched in 2024, kBTC currently holds a market capitalization of approximately $260 million.
