KB Kookmin Card, a leading South Korean credit card company, has announced a partnership with Avalanche and blockchain fintech firm Open Asset to integrate stablecoins into its existing card payment infrastructure. The initiative, which completed its patent application in January, aims to introduce a hybrid payment model that retains traditional credit card processes while adding functionalities for stablecoin wallet top-ups, payments, and settlements. This development will allow users to choose between traditional credit payments and digital asset payments using the same card.
