JPMorgan's latest Data Center Observation Report reveals a significant increase in the usage of large language models (LLMs) on the OpenRouter platform, with a 70% month-over-month rise in June and a 20-fold increase year-over-year. Despite a slight month-over-month price increase, LLM token prices have only decreased by 5% compared to last year, with U.S. models accounting for 85% of the spending. The report also highlights a rise in GPU rental prices from non-cloud vendors, with A100 GPUs up by 6.3%, H100 by 3.7%, and B200 by 2.7%. Notably, the premium of B200 over H100 has decreased from 2.58 times to 1.96 times, indicating a shift in pricing dynamics. The demand for AI hardware remains robust, reflecting the growing reliance on AI technologies.
