Emanuel Fabian, a military reporter for The Times of Israel, has received death threats from bettors on the prediction market Polymarket. The threats followed his report on an Iranian missile attack near Beit Shemesh, Israel, on March 10. Bettors had wagered over $14 million on whether Iran would attack Israel, with the outcome hinging on whether the missile was intercepted. Fabian reported the missile struck an open area, which did not trigger the "yes" result. Fabian received numerous threatening messages demanding he alter his report to indicate the missile was intercepted. He refused, citing information from Israeli aid services and the military, and reported the threats to the police. Polymarket has since banned the accounts involved and pledged to cooperate with law enforcement.
