Iran's Parliament National Security Committee head, Ibrahim Aziz, has accused the United States of insincerity during recent negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan. Aziz stated that the U.S. attempted to impose its will on Iran under diplomatic pretenses during the talks held on April 11-12. Iran, approaching the discussions with distrust, focused on protecting its interests concerning nuclear issues, the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, and related claims. Aziz noted that upon recognizing Iran's firm stance, the U.S. retreated from its position.
