IoTeX has announced plans to deprecate CIOTX across Ethereum, Base, and Solana networks following a security breach on the ioTube cross-chain bridge on February 20th. The attack led to unauthorized CIOTX issuance on Ethereum, prompting IoTeX to permanently close the affected bridges. Holders of CIOTX must submit transaction hashes via a claims portal to receive IOTX on the IoTeX chain at a 1:1 ratio after verification. The networks BSC, Polygon, and IoTeX remain unaffected by the unauthorized issuance and will reopen bridges post-audit, allowing users to migrate back to IOTX before these bridges are permanently delisted. IoTeX will also instruct centralized and decentralized exchanges, as well as DeFi platforms, to completely remove CIOTX integrations.
