A 69-year-old doctor from Ahmedabad has fallen victim to a WhatsApp-based cryptocurrency scam, losing Rs 63 lakh. The scammers enticed the doctor with fabricated profit screenshots and a cloned trading application, convincing him to invest in altcoins. After the funds were transferred, the victim was blocked and further fees were demanded. Authorities have charged five individuals under various sections of the BNS, highlighting the growing threat of social engineering and fraudulent apps in India's crypto market.
