Hyperliquid has launched the Hyperliquid Policy Center in Washington, D.C., appointing renowned crypto lawyer Jake Chervinsky as its first CEO. The center aims to facilitate the adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) in the U.S. by developing a legal framework and assisting Congress and federal agencies in understanding DeFi technology. A key focus will be creating regulations for perpetual contracts. The initiative is supported by a donation of 1 million HYPE tokens, valued at approximately $28 million, from the Hyperliquid-affiliated foundation.
The center's founding team includes policy advisor Brad Bourque and policy director Salah Ghazzal. It is actively recruiting for roles such as chief of staff, head of communications, and head of government relations, as it seeks to influence regulatory rulemaking and address the limitations of existing frameworks formed in the analog era.
