Hut 8 has officially powered up its Vega data center in Texas, marking it as the largest single Bitcoin mining facility globally. The center boasts 205 megawatts of power, supporting approximately 15 exahashes per second (EH/s) of computing power, which represents nearly 2% of the global Bitcoin hash rate. The facility employs a proprietary direct chip liquid cooling system and houses 17,280 U3S21EXPH miners from Bitmain. The Vega data center is expected to generate annualized hosting revenue between $110 million and $120 million. This significant development underscores Hut 8's strategic expansion in the cryptocurrency mining sector, leveraging advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and output.
