China's Cyberspace Authority has fined ByteDance for non-compliance with regulations on labeling AI-generated content across three of its platforms. The CapCut app, Maoxiang app, and Jimeng AI website were found to have violated the Cybersecurity Law and other regulatory measures by not effectively identifying AI-generated and synthesized content. These platforms, which include a video editing tool, an AI character interaction app, and an AI image and video generation platform, have been subjected to corrective actions, warnings, and stricter oversight of responsible personnel by the National Internet Information Office.
