Grab and StraitsX have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the integration of a Web3 wallet into the Grab app and the development of a stablecoin-based clearing and settlement layer. This initiative aims to connect GrabPay merchants with StraitsX partner wallets, enhancing the payment ecosystem. Grab has previously tested stablecoin payment channels within its merchant network, and this partnership indicates a move towards embedding stablecoin settlements more directly into its consumer wallet, with potential expansion beyond Singapore.
