Goldman Sachs projects that Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle, and Meta will collectively spend $800 billion on artificial intelligence infrastructure in 2026. The investment bank estimates that hyperscale cloud providers require approximately $300 billion in annual AI revenue to achieve break-even on these capital expenditures. Despite the massive spending commitments, Goldman Sachs warns that rising financing needs and infrastructure constraints could limit the pace of future growth. These operational and financial headwinds may force tech giants to adjust their AI infrastructure expansion timelines as capital requirements intensify.
