The number of global cryptocurrency holders increased by 12.4% in 2025, rising from 659 million to 741 million, according to Tech in Asia. This growth was primarily driven by increased adoption by U.S. institutions and pro-crypto policies, including the establishment of Bitcoin strategic reserves. Bitcoin holders grew by 8.3% to 365 million, representing nearly half of the total global holders. Meanwhile, Ethereum holders saw a 22.6% increase, reaching 175 million and accounting for approximately 24% of the total.
