The number of global cryptocurrency holders rose to 741 million in 2025, marking a 12.4% increase from 659 million in 2024, according to a report by Crypto.com. This growth is largely attributed to increased institutional adoption and supportive cryptocurrency policies in the United States, including strategic Bitcoin reserves. Bitcoin holders grew by 8.3% to 365 million, making up nearly half of all global holders, while Ethereum holders surged by 22.6% to 175 million, representing about 24% of the total. Stablecoins accounted for 30% of total cryptocurrency trading volume from January to July 2025, with trading volumes exceeding $4 trillion. Additionally, the on-chain value of tokenized real-world assets surpassed $30 billion by mid-September, a 93% increase since the start of the year.
