Ghana's central bank governor, Johnson Asiama, announced that the country's cryptocurrency regulatory bill has been submitted to parliament and is anticipated to be finalized by December 2025. This development was shared during an IMF meeting, highlighting Ghana's move towards officially regulating crypto assets. The central bank had previously released a regulatory draft in August 2024. Currently, approximately 3 million Ghanaians, representing nearly 9% of the population, are engaged in cryptocurrency usage, underscoring the growing importance of a formal regulatory framework.
