French police in Isère have arrested three suspects in their twenties following the kidnapping and torture of a 74-year-old man in Voiron on January 25. The victim was held for approximately 16 hours in a bar backroom in Valence, where he was severely mistreated. The kidnappers mistakenly believed the victim's son was a cryptocurrency millionaire and demanded a ransom of €3 million in cryptocurrency, sending videos of the abuse via encrypted communication to exert pressure. The suspects have been formally charged with organized kidnapping, torture, and barbaric acts, and are currently in custody. Investigations suggest they may have been acting under someone else's orders.
