A group of former Ethereum Foundation researchers has launched Ethlabs, an independent non-profit organization, with backing from notable figures and entities including Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, Bitmine, and SharpLink. The initiative also receives support from Anchorage, Octant, and SNZ, aiming to prepare for the next phase of institutional adoption of Ethereum. The five co-founders, Ansgar Dietrichs, Barnabé Monnot, Caspar Schwarz-Schilling, Josh Rudolf, and Julian Ma, have been instrumental in major network upgrades over the past decade. Ethlabs will focus its early efforts on addressing the needs for large-scale institutional blockchain adoption. This includes enhancing settlement speeds, native issuance, cross-chain transactions based on robust infrastructure, mainnet capacity, and research to establish the monetary properties of ETH.
