Ethereum researchers, led by Thomas Coratger and Justin Drake, have unveiled a design aimed at safeguarding approximately one million validators from potential quantum computer threats. The proposal suggests that validators should begin registering quantum-safe keys well in advance of the network transitioning to new signature methods. This proactive "warmup phase" is intended to ensure a smooth transition when the network eventually adopts quantum-resistant signatures.
