Ethereum researchers have introduced EIP-8142, a proposal aimed at reducing the data load on validators by encoding block execution data into blobs. This approach allows validators to verify data availability using Data Availability Sampling (DAS) without needing to download the entire dataset, thereby alleviating bandwidth demands and enhancing scalability. The proposal also seeks to address limitations in zkEVM scenarios where zero-knowledge proofs fall short in ensuring data availability, by integrating execution gas and blob data into a unified "data gas" system. In a related development, Biconomy, in partnership with the Ethereum Foundation, has put forward ERC-8211. This proposal facilitates the execution of multiple sequential operations under a single transaction signature, aiming to reduce transaction failures and improve the user experience in decentralized finance (DeFi) interactions.
