Davide Crapis, head of AI at the Ethereum Foundation, has proposed a novel approach to API access that could reduce reliance on identity binding, such as email or bank accounts. Crapis suggests using a staking mechanism where users deposit a bond to make multiple API calls while maintaining anonymity. Misuse would result in forfeiture of the bond. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin endorsed this idea, stating it aligns with making Ethereum a hub for AI. He emphasized the need for technological improvements like zero-knowledge privacy payments and reputation systems to build a more innovative infrastructure.
